Edwin H. Ferguson, Jr. Ed is a native and life long resident of Concord, Cabarrus County, North Carolina. He attended public schools in Cabarrus County, as well as Wake Forest University. His father was Controller of Interstate Securities Corporation prior to his death in 1976 and was active in the accounting industry. Ed has continued his interest in accounting and problem solving by concentrating on litigation, bankruptcy, and family law related matters.

Ed has represented clients in various areas of litigation to include personal injury, construction litigation, medical malpractice, family law related matters, and contract issues and disputes. Primarily, his practice has related to litigation and bankruptcy.

Ed has participated in many organizations in Cabarrus County to include Assistant Scout Master, Chairman of Cabarrus County Group Homes, Inc., Cabarrus Courthouse Theater and Calvary Lutheran Church. He enjoys woodworking and building 18th Century reproduction furniture.

PERSONAL:	Married to the former Deborah Epps (1996); he has two children from a former marriage, Amy and Robert and a step-daughter of the present marriage, Sarah. Additionally, he has a granddaughter, age 5.
EDUCATION:	Concord High School, Concord (1964) Wake Forest University (BBA accounting – 1968) Wake Forest University (JD 1974) Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements of State Bar met by attending seminars on a regular basis and occasionally as an instructor.
NON-LEGAL WORK EXPERIENCE:	26 years in the United States Army Reserve and retired as a Full Colonel.
LEGAL EXPERIENCE: 1974 – 1977 1978 – Present	Associate attorney with Wesley B. Grant, P.A., Concord, Cabarrus County, North Carolina Private practice in Concord, North Carolina; initially as a sole proprietor and later in partnership with James E. Scarbrough, which developed into Ferguson, Scarbrough & Hayes, P.A., Concord, North Carolina. Professional Credits: North Carolina State Bar (admitted September, 1974); North Carolina Bar Association; Member of Bankruptcy Section, Family Law Section, and Office Practice Sections of the North Carolina Bar Association; admitted to practice before all state Courts and Middle and Eastern District Federal Courts.
AREAS OF PRACTICE:	General litigation and practice; Bankruptcy practice to include a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee; and other general litigation in State Courts.
CIVIL INVOLVEMENT:	Member of Calvary Lutheran Church; member of Concord, Cabarrus County Chamber of Commerce; past President of Cabarrus County Bar Association; past Chairman of Cabarrus County Group Homes, Inc.; past member of Cabarrus Courthouse Theater; member of the Historic Board and was author of the initial Historic District Guidelines as an extra territorial member.
