James R. DeMay - jdemay@fspa.net      

                   Jim is a 2004 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received a B.S. in Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School with a minor in Public Policy Analysis.  He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Akron School of Law in Akron, Ohio in 2007.  While in law school, Jim contributed as an Associate Editor for the Akron Law Review and was a member of Akron’s nationally ranked Mock Trial Team.  He also served as Vice Justice of the Akron chapter of the Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity.  While in law school, Jim performed a semester-long externship clerking for the Hon. James S. Gallas of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.

Jim joined the firm of Ferguson, Scarbrough & Hayes, P.A. in August 2007.  He represents clients in several areas of litigation, including personal injury, construction law, contracts, and municipal law.  Jim is a member of the Cabarrus County Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.

Outside the office, Jim enjoys a variety of sports, including running, softball, flag football, and basketball.  He is also an avid supporter of his alma mater, the North Carolina Tar Heels.
